Worried over threats confronting President Jonathan’s perceived re-election bid in the 2015 presidential election and the seeming sharp division among senators on the development, senators of the South South geo-political zone under the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, will meet in Asaba, Delta State, tomorrow, to discuss on how to handle the situation.
The meeting, according to Vanguard source, would be held at the instance of the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the South South zone in collaboration with the national headquarters of the party.
The party is said to be concerned about political developments in the House of Representatives where members of the party from the region had openly demonstrated their resolve to support the House Speaker, Aminu Tambuwal, to contest against Jonathan in the forth coming presidential election in 2015.
The leadership of the South South PDP Senators Caucus, was said to have been approached by both the leadership of the party in the zone and the national headquarters to arrange a forum where they can all meet to chart a common course, a development that gave rise to the scheduled meeting. …(continue from source)
